Dear friends,
I am writing a look back for the SAAB SPY RALLY for the second time. Who would have thought that years ago. The Czech and Slovak meeting are common for SAAB car owners. And yet we managed, I dare say, our event to take a firm place in this busy calendar.
We placed the second year at the opposite end of the republic, even so half of the starting field of the premiere year found its way to it. This refutes the rule that Czechs are not willing to travel longer distances to meetings.
Of the purely Czech crews, HUZOVÁCI (Huzová, 418 km) and 3 SUŠENKY (Petřkovice, 480 km) had the farthest to us. The young men from the DUO NORDKAPP crew drove the farthest to us (Žilina, 520 km | Szczecin, 660 km). This is absolutely unbelievable! All honor!
Already in the second year, we also became a fully international event. Four crews from AERONAUTEN, PHOENIX, THOMBOLA and AUGSTIS ELCHRACING TEAM FRANKEN arrived straight from Germany. The already mentioned DUO NORDKAPP was formed by the Slovak-Polish crew. This is wonderful and commits us to a greater adaptation to this fact in the future as part of the announcement and breefing.
And what was the SAAB SPY RALLY 2021 itself? In terms of weather, it turned out almost perfectly, at least compared to the forecasts. The rain was only sudden and very short (although intensely somewhere). We hope that you enjoyed the route and especially the ford, as well as we believe that you enjoyed the U Štěpána restaurant and slept well in the Srní hotel.
No clues were collected and destroyed by thief this year, no one fell into the mud. That is a real success.
We promise that next year we will do our best to keep the bar set (but we will not look for fords in a special way :))
